12 Sports is a faith-based ministry that is committed to changing the city of Baltimore for our youth by way of sports, mentoring, volunteer opportunities, job training, and most importantly faith! Throughout 10:
12, we emphasize the importance of modeling transformational coaching characteristics such as:
integrity, humility, and servant leadership.
As our 10:
12 Sports Volunteer Empowerment VISTA, you will have an integral part in directly changing the lives of the young men in the city of Baltimore.
You will work to increase the number of volunteers and annual retention amongst them.
This will result in the increased effectiveness of year-long program goals.
If you are a leader, take initiative, can work independently, are a great team player, and have experience working with youth and serving in urban communities, then this role is the right fit for you! Member Duties :
The VISTA at 10:
12 Sports will be part of the 2023-24 Up2Us Sports VISTA cohort of 75 members.
The 10:
12 Sports Volunteer Empowerment VISTA will establish a strategy to generate 25 new committed volunteers.
Specifically, you will:
1) generate and administer a survey to learn preferred means of ongoing communication; 2) formulate a database in Salesforce to house volunteer information; 3) plan bi-annual volunteer engagement activities; 4) research and communicate necessary compliance trainings; 5) develop a streamlined process for background checks and other trainings; 6) create and distribute a database for relevant trainings; 7) create a feedback loop for volunteers to gauge their training needs and wants; 8) research and compile a list of volunteer opportunities; 9) plan a monthly check-in with staff to analyze their capacity needs; 10) create a template for staff to accurately describe volunteer needs and requirements.
